On the brink of change? What a 'Brexit' could mean for trademark practitioners

On June 23, the UK heads to the polls to vote on whether the country should remain a member of the European Union. Current polls indicate it is an incredibly tight race so far (figures from today have it at 50/50), so there is a real possibility that, in a few years, the UK will no longer be an EU member.
It will come as no surprise that the effect on trademarks and IP has not been a hot political talking point during the current debate. However, ITMA has released a report on what it foresees as the possible impact on trademark practice of a ‘leave’ vote. We sat down with McLeod to gain some deeper insights into the issues that ITMA raised.
